This Privacy Policy applies to the ScreenFit app for iPhone and iPad (the "App") and this website, provided by Appsinfoway ("we", "us"). If you have questions, email [email protected].
The short version
- No account. You never give us your name, email or password.
- Your camera never leaves your device. Reps are counted live, on-device. Video frames are never recorded, stored or transmitted.
- We can't see your apps. Apple's Screen Time framework gives the App anonymous tokens for the apps you choose. We cannot see which apps they are, and we never see your browsing, messages, photos or contacts.
- No ads, no tracking across apps, no data selling. We do not use the advertising identifier and we do not sell or share personal data for advertising.
- Limited, pseudonymous analytics. We collect app usage events and crash reports to understand what works and fix bugs.
Data that stays on your device
The following is created and stored only on your device (and in your device backups, if you use them). We do not receive it:
- Camera. During a push-up or squat challenge, the front camera feed is analyzed in real time with Apple's on-device Vision framework to detect body position and count reps. Frames are discarded immediately. The camera is active only while a challenge is on screen.
- Motion. Device motion data may be read during a challenge to help calibrate rep counting. It is processed on-device and not stored.
- Screen Time selections. The apps, categories and websites you choose to lock are stored as opaque tokens issued by Apple's FamilyControls framework. Only your device can resolve them.
- Activity history. Your unlocks, reps, urges resisted, streaks, milestones, reflections, intentions and settings.
Deleting the App removes this data from your device.
Data we collect
Usage analytics
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to record how the App is used, for example: screens viewed, buttons tapped, onboarding steps completed, permissions granted or denied, how many apps you protect, which challenge type you use and how it ended, and paywall views and plan selections. Where an event relates to a locked app, we record only a general category (for example "social"), never the app's name. Events are linked to a random app-instance identifier, not to your identity.
Crash and diagnostics data
We use Firebase Crashlytics to receive crash reports, which include a stack trace, device model, OS version, app version, free memory and disk space, and a random installation identifier.
Purchase data
Purchases are processed by Apple. We never receive your payment details. To manage your subscription status we use RevenueCat, which receives your App Store transaction information (such as product, purchase date, renewal and trial status) together with a random, anonymous user ID generated by the App, plus basic device information (such as country, OS and app version).
Notifications
If you allow notifications, the App registers a push token with Apple Push Notification service and Firebase Cloud Messaging so we can send notifications related to the App. You can turn notifications off at any time in iOS Settings.
Support emails
If you email us, we receive your email address, your message and anything you choose to include (the App pre-fills its version number).
This website
This website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. Our hosting provider may process standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver and secure the site.
Service providers
We share data only with service providers that process it on our behalf, under contractual obligations to protect it:
- Apple: Screen Time, App Store purchases, push notifications. Apple Privacy Policy
- Google (Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging): analytics, crash reporting, notifications. Firebase privacy
- RevenueCat: subscription management. RevenueCat Privacy Policy
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our users or others, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case this policy will continue to apply to the transferred data.
How we use data
- To provide the App's features and unlock your subscription.
- To understand which features help people scroll less, and to improve them.
- To find and fix crashes and bugs.
- To respond to your support requests.
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on performance of a contract (providing the App and your subscription), our legitimate interests (analytics, diagnostics and security, balanced against your rights), and compliance with legal obligations.
Retention
On-device data stays until you delete it or the App. Analytics event data is retained for the period configured in our Firebase project, at most 14 months. Crash reports are retained by Crashlytics for up to 90 days. Subscription records are kept by RevenueCat and Apple for as long as needed for billing, tax and legal purposes. Support emails are kept for as long as needed to help you, then deleted.
Your choices and rights
- Camera, Screen Time, motion and notifications are optional permissions you control in iOS Settings. Rep counting requires the camera; mindful challenges do not.
- Deleting the App removes all on-device data.
- Subscriptions can be managed or cancelled in your Apple ID settings.
Depending on where you live (for example the EU/EEA, UK, California or other US states, Brazil, or India), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Because we don't ask who you are, we may need your help to find data linked to your device. Email [email protected] and we will respond within the time required by law. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under California law.
Children
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
International transfers
Our service providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect data in transit and at rest, and we keep what we collect to a minimum. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but the most sensitive data the App handles never leaves your device in the first place.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll change the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, let you know in the App.
